Can having dental anxiety affect your dental health?

When you visit us, we ensure to keep you comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure. If you have any questions, feel free to call us!

How many times should I visit my dentist in a year?

It is essential to make a visit to your dentist at least twice a year. During these sessions, our dentist will conduct a dental examination, including dental cleaning, to get rid of plaque, tartar, and cavity-causing bad bacteria in your teeth. This preventive measure can help your mouth be healthy and clean.

What are the signs that show I should immediately see my dentist?

The signs that show you need to see your dentist soon are:

  • Mouth sores
  • Dry mouth
  • Pain in the jaws
  • Knocked-out teeth
  • Broken or fractured teeth
  • Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
  • Have bad breath or halitosis
  • Swelling on the face near the affected tooth
  • Teeth Sensitivity
  • Experience bad taste in the mouth

Why should I visit my dentist regularly?

Don't be that patient who only visits the dentist in case of a dental emergency. Going for semi-annual and bi-annual dental checkups can keep you in good oral health, which can save your time and money, which otherwise you need to spend on expensive restorative procedures.

How can you prevent bad breath?

Follow the simple steps below to prevent bad breath:

  • Maintain a good oral routine at home
  • Make a visit to your dentist for regular dental checkups.
  • Quit smoking or use of chewing tobacco
  • Drink enough water
  • Start using over-the-counter antiseptic rinses once a day

Do I need to floss my teeth daily?

You should floss between teeth regularly to remove the cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth and reduce bad breath. Even if you brush your teeth properly, make sure to floss after that to get rid of minute food particles stuck between your teeth.

How can I prevent cavities?

To keep cavities at bay, look into the following steps:

  • Brushing teeth twice for about two minutes.
  • Do not use a hard-bristled toothbrush.
  • Floss once a day.
  • Limit the intake of sugar in your diet.
  • Rinse your mouth using water after having food.
  • Do visit your dentist for dental checkup sessions.

Do you offer dental implants?

Yes, we do offer dental implants in our practice. We use the best quality dental implants here in Chattanooga to restore your missing tooth/teeth permanently.

Can I use smokeless tobacco?

If tobacco doesn't mean it's good for your oral health. Just like any other tobacco product, it is also harmful. Over time, you may face issues like:

  • A lump or white patches
  • Sore throat
  • An unhealing sore
  • Difficulty while chewing
  • A restricted jaw or tongue movement
  • Risk of oral cancer

How often do I need to change my toothbrush?

It is essential to change your toothbrush once every three or four months. If you use an electric toothbrush, then change the toothbrush heads frequently.
